Fun with tentacles

I don’t know where the idea for these robo- or steampunk-octopus came from, but I started doodling them in my sketchbook one evening. They looked fun, and after several variations, I started to wonder if I could actually model such a thing in 3D in Cinema 4D?

Took a few detours as I worked through the project, but I think it turned out well for a doodled inspiration.
